About of Flat Foot
Flat footedness (pes planus) is flatening of the soles of the feet. Flatness becomes more evident, especially when the person stands on the foot.
Which type of flat footedness improves in time?
As seen in the images below, when standing on it if the curvature of the sole flattens and the curvature returns to normal when the child is raised to the tip of the finger, this is most likely flexible type. This type of situations is largely normalized over time. In a group of children the flat footednes improves at 4-5 years of age, and in some children complete recovery is at 8-10 years old.
